Impersonation

I am having a problem with Impersonation.

I need a code which basically using impersonation runs some code. Typical scenaio would be a laptop connected to a network with local administrator logged in. Laptop is  not part of domain it is in the workgroup.

When user runs the code he would enter domain user credentials and then the rest of the code will run under the domain user credentials.

I have searched a web lot, but in every such example they are using LogOnUser() function from advapi32.dll. and it does not validate the user credential.

Is it becuase the laptop is not part of the domain? If yes, then is it possible to impersonate user in the netwrok but outside domain?
